Summary
Ballast Investments ("Ballast" or "The Company") is seeking an Associate, Investments to support the Investments vertical. Under the general supervision of the Investments Team, the Associate is responsible for activities relating to the financial analysis and operations of Ballast's investment portfolio along with communicating to key stakeholders.
The Company is a vertically-integrated owner-operator of multifamily, student housing, and single family rental assets in the greater Western United States. The Company has several strategic partnerships with global institutional capital providers and has experienced strong growth since its founding in 2014.

Primary Responsibilities
- Financial Modeling & Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain detailed capital forecasts and budgets for portfolio investments, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives
- Conduct sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of various scenarios on investment returns, providing clear and concise summaries for senior management
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare comprehensive ad-hoc financial analyses and investment recommendations for senior management, supporting informed decision-making
- Monitor and track capital expenditure (CAPEX) costs and performance, identifying variances and providing actionable insights
- Project Management & Execution:
- Lead special projects as assigned, delivering high-quality, timely deliverables
- Collaborate with analysts to ensure accurate and insightful analyses
- Investor Relations & Communication:
- Participate in external calls with key investors and stakeholders, contributing to effective communication and relationship management
- Prepare materials for investor meetings
- Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Manage and mentor junior analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality work and foster professional development.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Data Analytics, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics or related field
- 3-5 years of real estate private equity, real estate, data analytics or investment banking
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; familiarity with Yardi is a plus
