The Department of Biology (biology.iu.edu) at Indiana University-Indianapolis (IUI; formerly IUPUI) invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor to begin March 1, 2025. Competitive salary and start-up funds are available. Applicants must have a successful research program in the study of Hydrocephalus that has attracted external funding, dedication to effective student mentoring and the ability to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Candidates able to contribute to teaching in neuroscience, physiology or biochemistry are particularly welcome. Successful candidates will be expected to become active members of the newly formed and nationally recognized Hydrocephalus Center. Research strengths in the Biology Department span a range of topics in cellular, molecular, and organismal biology.

The Department has 25 full-time faculty members, over 700 undergraduate majors, and approximately 50 graduate students enrolled in Ph.D. and M.S. programs. IU Indy, previously known as IUPUI, realigned in 2024 with Indiana University and is Indiana's premier urban public research institution with approximately 30,000 students and more than $450 million in annual research funding. The Department of Biology has a strong record of externally funded research, well-equipped research laboratories and several core facilities. Basic Qualifications
