Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $130,000

Job Summary:

Junior analyst on an asset management team that focuses on global investments in preferred securities and corporate bonds.

The junior analyst will contribute to the overall success of the fixed income team in its goal of providing excellent investment results for clients by supporting the team's portfolio managers and senior analysts in analytical tasks relating to portfolio management, sector and company evaluations, and security valuation and selection. Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and senior analysts to develop and improve quantitative and analytical tools to enhance portfolio management and security selection
  • Work with senior analysts in the evaluation of company fundamentals and security valuations
  • Manage and run various security valuation, portfolio and index positioning, and performance-related reports, as well as related databases
  • Perform active surveillance of portfolio holdings to identify changes and trends
  • Work on various client services projects and support marketing efforts and information requests relating to client accounts
  • Stay abreast of global credit markets, as well as market technicals and issuer/deal fundamentals that impact relative value
  • Interface with colleagues in technology, account administration, marketing, client services, compliance, and trading


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in analytical fields, such as computer science or business, and a strong interest to work in finance
  • Aspiration for a career in asset management and/or to pursue a CFA taken into consideration
  • Very strong preference for advanced Excel modeling skills with proficiency in or a desire to learn VBA
  • Very strong preference for coding skills. Primary languages of interest include Python, VBA, and SQL. Experience with PowerBI, large language models, or publicly available AI tools a plus
  • Bloomberg proficiency a strong plus
  • No prior work experience required, but up to 2 years of buy-side or sell-side experience helpful
  • Familiarity with economics and finance and a strong interest in fixed income markets
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
