ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The UTMB Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a highly motivated board-certified Pediatric Anesthesiologist to serve as the Chief of Staff for Anesthesiology at Shriners Children's in Galveston. As the Chief of Staff, you will be responsible for providing senior leadership at all levels including guiding and providing clinical care, coordinating care with other departments and services, disseminating communication to assigned staff, providing updates to executive level leadership, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. As an academic institution, the selected anesthesiologist will also mentor and teach residents, fellows, and medical students. Clinical activities are expected to be distributed at the Shriner's Hospital for Children (80%) and at UTMB (20%). The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is a natural leader and change agent, is a proven innovator, and demonstrates the highest principles of clinical care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- M.D. or D.O degree and a U.S. Anesthesia Residency.
- Valid State of Texas medical license.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- ACLS Certification and up-to-date knowledge and specialty certification through the MOCA program.
