Academic appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) and will be determined by the candidate's credentials and experience.
Manning Family Children's is the founding member of a 7-hospital health system titled LCMC (Louisiana Children's Medical Center). The hospital is a 247-bed tertiary-care teaching complex located in the historic and vibrant Uptown area of New Orleans. It serves the entire state of Louisiana and the central Gulf Coast region. The hospital just completed a $300 million renovation and expansion which included a brand new 28-bed state-of-the-art dedicated cardiac intensive care unit, two new and dedicated cardiac operating rooms and two new and dedicated cardiac catheterization suites. Additional capital was spent on general infrastructure such that the hospital's buildings and campus are one of the most beautiful in the country.
The Cardiac Imaging Section of the Division includes 5 imaging faculty with expertise in transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography. The Echocardiography Laboratory is ICAEL-accredited. There are 10 certified cardiac sonographers assisting the Faculty in the Laboratory. In addition, the Section provides cardiac CT and MRI expertise through a collaboration between two of our imaging specialists and the hospital's radiology department. The Section actively participates in teaching medical students/residents and our 6 LSU Pediatric Cardiology Fellows. Finally, the Section has active research and quality improvement initiatives.
Position offers competitive benefits, and a compensation package commensurate with training and experience.
