Position Summary

The Paul H. O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (hereafter "O'Neill School") at Indiana University seeks to fill a tenure track faculty position at the rank of associate professor with tenure. The O'Neill School is a core school of Indiana University with locations on both the Indianapolis and Bloomington campuses; this position will be located on the Indianapolis campus. The successful candidate will teach courses in Community and Organizational Leadership Studies. We foster an interdisciplinary educational environment and welcome applicants with a Ph.D. in fields closely related to leadership studies and/or with a proven record of research and teaching in the field of leadership studies. The successful candidate will be prepared to develop and deliver both undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership studies relevant to the practice of leading and managing in both organizations and communities. The successful candidate will start no later than August 1, 2025.

Basic Qualifications

The ideal candidate will also have experience and interest in building successful programs to improve students' critical and quantitative thinking skills at the graduate and undergraduate level, and may teach courses in this domain. The successful candidate will provide evidence of effective classroom instruction and achievement of learning outcomes. Candidates are also expected to describe their experience with mentoring students. The teaching load for this position will be determined after hire and balanced with administrative tasks including program development work that the candidate assumes. The COLS program represents a new and growing area of programming within the O'Neill School. The successful candidate will support efforts to develop new credentials related to COLS (at both the graduate and undergraduate levels) and will assist in program assessment. We especially value candidates that are open to employing a variety of high impact practices, and alternative modes of course delivery.

The successful candidate must have an academic record commensurate with an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor with Tenure in the O'Neill School.
