The UCLA Joint Institute for Regional Earth System Science and Engineering (JIFRESSE) invites applications for a position of Associate Project Scientist whose primary role will be consulting on boundary layer cloud research. Consultation topics will include the following:
Design of gigascale large eddy simulations of maritime shallow convection
Interpretation of simulated cloud dynamical and microphysical processes
Development and evaluation of remote sensing retrievals of vertical motion and cloud properties

Qualifications

Basic qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application):
Appointee must possess a doctorate degree, in the field of engineering, statistics, earth science, or related disciplines.
Previous training and experience in large eddy simulation, parameterization development, and retrieval development
Extensive knowledge and expertise in cloud microphysical and dynamical processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
