Job Summary:

SonoThera is seeking an Associate Scientist in the Pharmacology group. The successful candidate will have a background in physiology/organismal biology, and extensive hands-on experience developing and optimizing animal models of muscular and cardiovascular diseases. Previous experience with in vivo myography, plethysmography, and open field testing, as well as the ability to develop and employ other innovative and novel phenotypic assessments in mice, is required. The person filling this position will be part of a small team of in vivo scientists producing critical data to advance projects quickly. The ability to work well with others, to be flexible and adapt to frequent change, and to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment, is required. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • MS + 8+ years' experience or BS + 10+ years' experience in the biological sciences or a related field. Those without hands-on in vivo skills should not apply.

Technical Requirements and Skills:

Proficient knowledge and experience in the following:
  • In vivo study design (8+ years' experience)
  • Mouse handling (8+ years' experience)
  • Familiarity with and ability to work within vivarium regulations (8+ years' experience)
  • Familiarity with and ability to work in the spirit of good laboratory practices (8+ years' experience)
  • Knowledge of mouse husbandry and breeding
  • Mouse dose administration (IV, IM, SQ, IP, ICV) (8+ years' experience)
  • Mouse myography, plethysmography, open field testing (2+ years' experience)
  • Data collection and entry in Benchling electronic notebook
  • Data analysis
  • Scientific communication and presentation
  • Adept with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Prism

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $110,640.00 to $138,000.00 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data, including potential adjustments for geographic location.
