Associate Test Engineer
Use Dolby development kit to test production and post-production software tools, professional encoder/decoders and similar products for audio and video performance. These activities include: testing of emerging and current technologies, troubleshooting system problems, and developing alternative test methods and procedures. Applies professional and technical concepts and integrates knowledge and experience consistent with a skilled specialist. Standard work practices are understood and followed. Exchanges detailed technical information and provides support with internal and external customers. Applies discretion and independent judgment to solve problems and make recommendations.
Able to communicate complex technical issues both verbally and in written reports. Self-motivated and able to work well under minimal supervision. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. Able to prioritize a continually changing workload.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $79,900-$103,900. which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training. Associate Test Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Perform Dolby evaluation testing on licensed professional partner products.
- Analyze the test results to pass/fail the product and compile the test data ready for the report writing.
- Learn the test plan and set up the test environment by communicating with partners to identify the necessary test equipment/room configuration.
- Work with Pro App Engineers to learn details on partner product integration, esp., any customized workflows and/or waived requirements prior to product submission.
- Participate in test kit development and provide feedback to improve test instructions, test signals, and test methods.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Must have some hands-on experience with production/post-production software tools such as:
- DaVinci Resolve, Avid Pro Tools, Steinberg Nuendo, Filmlight Baselight.
- Colorfront Transkoder, Rohde & Schwarz Clipster, MTI Film Cortex, Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Must have knowledge of production/post-production workflows, terminology, jargon, and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus strong work and business ethics.
- Nice to have knowledge of standard archival/mezzanine formats, e.g., MXF, IMF, MOV, or ADM.
- Experience using scripting languages such as Python is a plus.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and advanced concepts, including TCP/IP protocols, routing, switching, and network security principles.
- Knowledge of Dolby Audio, Dolby Atmos and especially, Dolby Vision is a plus.
- Knowledge of SDI and HDMI interfaces is a plus.
