Are estate and gift tax planning your passion? Does partnering with financial advisors and their largest and best clients on estate and financial planning issues motivate you?

In an effort to provide more seamless access for our wealthiest clients to our most differentiated products and capabilities, UBS recently announced the creation of a new "Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Plus" client segment and the launch of an enhanced cross-divisional client service offering. In close coordination with the client's Financial Advisor, this client segment will be serviced by dedicated groups of subject matter experts across Wealth Management, the Investment Bank and Asset Management. Why? Sophisticated clients have sophisticated needs - we want to ensure clients continue to have the full suite of UBS capabilities at their fingertips.

We're looking for someone like you who can:
independently review estate planning documents (e.g., Wills, Living Trusts, and Irrevocable Trusts, documents governing family business entities) to create a current estate analysis, including estimated estate and income tax calculations
assist with modeling wealth transfer and philanthropic strategies for clients
perform research on income, estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax and philanthropic issues
assist with the team's administrative tasks and intellectual capital platform on an as-needed basis

Your team

As an Associate Wealth Strategist, you will work with the firm's Advanced Planning group to support the firm as an internal resource on estate planning, tax planning, and philanthropy for the firm's ultra-high net worth clients with minimum investible assets of $20-50 million and a net worth of $50-100 million+. You will work directly with Senior Wealth Strategists to support their client facing work. On a limited and as needed basis, you will assist the Senior Wealth Strategist with client meetings.
You will also support the Advanced Planning team's Center of Excellence, which coordinates internal and external intellectual capital in the estate planning, tax, philanthropy and insurance planning worlds. This includes co-authoring articles with senior team members.

Your expertise
ideally, 4+ years experience working at a law, financial or accounting firm that provided relevant experience to perform the duties described above
advanced degree or designation required (e.g., JD (preferred), LLM, CPA, Paralegal certificate/degree - if more than 10+ years of experience)
ability to review and understand both basic estate planning documents as well as documents implementing more complex estate planning strategies, such as irrevocable trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), sales to intentionally defective grantor trusts and split-interest charitable trusts
active Series 7 and 66 licenses (or are required to obtain them upon hire)
ability to understand and assimilate complex personal financial information (tax returns, investment statements, incentive benefits, employee benefits and compensation, life insurance policies, business interests, qualified and nonqualified retirement plan information, deferred compensation information, related retirement and benefits data, incentive and nonqualified stock option and restricted stock information)
experience with the following areas, techniques and strategies: estate; gift; GST and trust tax disciplines; advanced wealth transfer planning techniques such as Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, Family Limited Partnerships, Defective Grantor Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Private Foundations, Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax, planning with concentrated stock positions, incentive benefits, non-qualified stock options, incentive stock options, and restricted stock
