Description:
We are looking for an Audit Director for Re/Insurance Americas who will have responsibility for all audit work related to Swiss Re's activities in reinsurance and insurance in the Americas, supporting the delivery of independent assurance to the Board of Directors of Swiss Re Group and relevant Legal Entities. This role deals with themes that have organizational impact and drive the risk culture of Swiss Re, while also developing strong reinsurance and insurance expertise in the audit team.

Your risk assessment in this role is based on the deep understanding of Swiss Re's business, the regulatory developments, and the strategy of Swiss Re.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $206,000 to $356,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.

- Steer the audit teams to remain critical and independent, whilst at the same time ensuring that the risk perspective is balanced with the risk view of the business.
- Build and maintain a trusted relationship with key stakeholders, proactively raising issues and delivering impactful messages. You are a sparring partner to management, supporting them in their risk mitigation for deficiencies identified through discussion or on audits, and providing impactful and forward-looking audit opinion.
- Recognize and communicate the importance of the value of assurance that is delivered to the audit committee, recognizing the importance of insights that can be provided to the organization on how the control environment can be developed and improved.

- 12+ years of work experience in audit or other relevant roles, ideally within the insurance/reinsurance industry at a senior level
- Leadership experience, in a global, matrix driven organization
- Strong technical background in the insurance/reinsurance industry, with a strong knowledge of either L&H or P&C business, and a good overview of both.
- Strong understanding of risk, control, and governance with a proven track record to act as an agent of change in building effective and efficient control systems
- Sound understanding of local regulatory requirements across the Americas region.
- CPA, CA, CIA or other relevant professional certification a plus
