What you will be doing
This position is part of the Automation Group - Industry Team and is accountable for the strategic growth at a defined list of key accounts grouped by Industry Segments aligned with Discrete, Process or Hybrid Automation. The Automation Account Specialist (AAS) will focus on key customers to drive strategic growth opportunities that meet or exceed strategic sales growth goals for the entire portfolio of automation solutions, service contracts (annual reoccurring revenue- (ARR) and third-party scope.
This role requires the AAS to take a strategic approach in addition to driving standard Automation sales, promoting "Smart manufacturing" practices and driving "Digital transformation" solutions. This may involve engaging and utilizing extended resources as required including, but not limited to Product Managers (Gerrie/Rockwell/Other) System Integrator partners through the sales execution process. Qualifying opportunities, working with customers to align Gerrie solutions to their business goals/objectives while applying Industry knowledge and trends to their sales efforts to deliver outcome based selling solutions.
Expectation is to develop long term relationships with senior management or higher (Executive) as a trusted advisor within their assigned accounts. Understand CAPEX and OPEX spend. Accountability will include defining and execute business plans, meeting or exceeding sales and service solutions budget results. Additional role requirements may include supporting customer accounts including general administrative support, regular customer correspondence, presentations, training, and other strategy development activities.
SALES AND MARKETING
Act as lead point of contact for the strategic direction for Automation Solutions and Services.
Understand assigned account CAPEX / OPEX spend at assigned accounts.
Align Gerrie Automation solutions and services to the client business goals/objectives.
Develop and execute business plans, need assessment evaluation for your strategic account list.
Prepare and present proposal as required.
Guide customers toward long term vision of Digital Transformation/Smart manufacturing practices.
Drive sales from "traditional product sales" to "Programs and perpetual services contracts"
Lead multi-stakeholder meetings and drive opportunity execution.
Lead and direct collaborative Automation product managers engagement as required.
Be the customers - Trusted Automation and service solution advisor.
Apply Industry trends to sales efforts. Example: "Cyber security"
Identify new product/solutions and service opportunities for the organization.
Include and engage extended partner community to ensure project success.
Utilize CRM activities and ensure strategic accounts are well documented in CRM
Professional Proposal development and presentation skills required.
BUSINESS ACCOUNT PLANNING
Define account objectives, strategic plans, tactical execution plans strategies and action plans for developing the potential of the company.
Track and maintain active funnel and proposal submissions, CRM
Collaborates with Gerrie rales and resource groups to maximize the sales of Gerrie Electric's products and services at assigned accounts.
Analyze competitive activity with respect to changes in product, pricing or marketing strategies by competitors.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
Act as a lead point of contact to address the Automation need of your customers.
Identify new product/solutions and service opportunities for the organization.
TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION
Work with other departments as required, conveying a professional corporate image that represents the values of Gerrie Electric.
COMMUNICATION/ CUSTOMER SERVICE
Establish and maintain positive collaborative relationship with other Gerrie Leadership, Managers and Departments to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity.
Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain positive collaborative relationships with vendors and service providers.
Work collaboratively with Automation project managers.
QUALITY
Understand and adhere to ISO policies and procedures.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Participate in conferences, seminars, and other educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintain and participate in professional networks to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Participates on committees and special projects as requested.
Stay current with Industry trends and key business drivers.
Participates in Technical and Business Training.
Remain current with latest Automation product and service solutions
What you bring to the table
Minimum graduate of a 2-year Technician or 3 year Electrical/Electronic/Computer Technology or Engineering program which emphasizes automation and control systems or equivalent
Minimum of 7-10 years sales experience managing complex accounts
Must have proven successful experience in technical sales
Sound knowledge of Automation solutions, process, Information systems and service solutions
Strategically minded with strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
