As an Automation Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and development of electrical and control systems, including instrumentation configuration, system implementation, and testing. You will also provide oversight to design teams, ensure compliance with industry standards, and maintain high-quality project execution.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to define system requirements, functionality, and limitations.
- Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility, validate drawings, and identify hazards.
- Lead design efforts, including power distribution, grounding systems, and motor control center layouts.
- Certify designs and provide oversight to Engineers-In-Training and Designers.
- Perform power studies, arc flash analyses, and equipment sizing.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and develop major equipment specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and resolve design or safety-related conflicts.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
Required:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Texas.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design within the architectural, engineering, or construction industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent industrial controls experience.
Preferred:
- 6+ years of industry experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and related Autodesk software.
