We are seeking an experienced and technical AVP, Governance Manager to join our team in Toronto. This is a hybrid position with the requirement to be working out of the Toronto office.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Third-Party Risk Management: Maintain and administer the third-party risk management tiering assessment.
  • Program Administrator Agreements: Manage and update all agreements with our partners.
  • Underwriting Audit Strategy: Develop and execute the underwriting audit strategy. Collaborate with Corporate Underwriting and Internal Audit teams to determine audit schedules and frequency.


  • Partner Underwriting Audits: Lead all underwriting audits of external partners, including:
    • Setting up each audit in Athenium.
    • Collaborating with Program Managers to identify policies for audit.
    • Establishing scoring weights for each category.
    • Coordinating with partners to schedule audits.
    • Leading wrap-up meetings.
    • Developing and issuing final audit reports with recommendations.
    • Working with partners to implement recommendations and providing a final report upon completion.
  • Internal Peer Review Audits: Develop and execute internal peer review audits for Programs, including:
    • Collaborating with the VP of Programs and Fronting to establish schedules and frequency.
    • Developing a peer review audit template.
    • Leading monthly summary meetings of completed peer reviews.
    • Working with underwriters to implement recommendations and providing a final report to the VP of Programs and Fronting, including any action plans.
  • CAT/Accumulation Reporting: Manage CAT (Catastrophe) and accumulation reports for each program and the department overall, ensuring monthly completion and adherence to partner targets. Assist underwriters in managing CAT/accumulations and communicating with partners.
