The AVP, Information Technology & Digital Strategy at Holland Hospital is responsible for setting and executing the long-term IT vision, ensuring alignment with the hospital's strategic goals. This leadership role focuses on driving innovation, fostering strategic partnerships, and enhancing digital transformation. The AVP provides executive oversight for clinical and business applications, infrastructure, and network support, ensuring that technology investments drive operational excellence and improved patient outcomes.
Strategic Leadership & Innovation:
  • Develop and execute a long-term IT strategy that supports Holland Hospital's mission and business objectives.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with technology vendors, industry leaders, and healthcare organizations.
  • Align IT initiatives with enterprise-wide goals to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Lead enterprise digital transformation, ensuring the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices.


Enterprise Applications & Digital Transformation:
  • Oversee the strategic direction and optimization of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Advise on the development and enhancement of Enterprise Business Systems (EBS), ensuring seamless integration with hospital operations.
  • Establish governance frameworks for IT systems to ensure compliance, security, and usability.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to identify and implement innovative solutions that improve patient care and business processes.


Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Oversight:
  • Set the strategic vision for IT infrastructure, aligning technology investments with the hospital's long-term growth and digital transformation objectives.
  • Champion a proactive cybersecurity strategy to safeguard patient data and critical hospital assets against evolving threats.
  • Drive innovation in IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability, resilience, and alignment with emerging healthcare technologies.
  • Shape and enforce enterprise policies and standards to optimize infrastructure performance and regulatory compliance.


Stakeholder Engagement & Organizational Alignment:
  • Act as a key liaison between IT and executive leadership, clinical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Drive IT governance processes to ensure technology decisions align with hospital priorities.
  • Establish and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure IT effectiveness.
  • Advocate for IT funding and resources, demonstrating the value of technology investments to hospital leadership.


Financial & Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage a strategic IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Oversee vendor negotiations and partnerships to optimize IT investments.
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and revenue enhancement through technology solutions.
  • Ensure financial sustainability of IT initiatives through strategic forecasting and planning.


Leadership & Workforce Development:
  • Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Provide mentorship and career development opportunities to IT leaders and staff.
  • Drive collaboration between IT, clinical, and operational teams to enhance digital adoption and workforce engagement.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Proven expertise in EMR systems (Epic and/or Cerner preferred) and Enterprise Business Systems (EBS).
  • Strong track record of leading digital transformation and strategic technology initiatives.
  • Proven ability to provide executive oversight of complex IT infrastructures, cybersecurity programs, and enterprise-wide applications.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder management, governance, and executive-level decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
