How You Will Contribute/Position Summary

The AVP of Admissions leads the development and implementation of the Outpatient Network admissions processes and systems in collaboration with Odyssey and Network leadership. Achieves admissions operational objectives through team leadership, championing company culture, setting productivity targets, identifying and resolving problems, and designing and implementing system improvements. Provides direct supervision and leadership to Director of Admissions.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Achieves admissions operational objectives through strategic leadership.
    • Provides direct supervision to Director of Admissions; provides guidance and direction for hiring, training, coaching and professional development for Admissions team members.
    • Establishes productivity, quality, and customer-service standards in partnership with Odyssey and Network leadership.
    • Collaborates with leadership to develops action plans aligned with strategic objectives and budget achievement.
    • Interprets, communicates, and holds team members accountable to admissions requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Ensures admissions team members are provided consistent leadership and training that creates opportunities for success and motivation.
    • Provides coaching and guidance to admissions and facility leaders to identify and resolve barriers to admission.
  • Strategic planning and data integrity.
    • Ensures accuracy of client data and financial information by reviewing audits and other reports.
    • Identifies and brings forward pertinent trends; proposes and initiates strategic actions to inform and support overall strategic objectives.
    • Leverages data and analytics to inform strategic plans and objective setting.
    • Ensures admissions systems, procedures, and team members support accuracy of admissions related data and client financial information by conducting regular audits.
    • Meets budgeted admissions targets and financial objectives by estimating requirements; analyzing variances; and implementing corrective actions.
  • Continuous quality improvement
    • Manages difficult or emotional internal and external customer and referral source situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests and meets commitments.
    • Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement;
      • Monitors call logs, recordings, and live calls to identify opportunities for coaching and improvement,
      • Collaborates with facility and network leadership to generate buy-in and support for procedural adjustments,
      • Designs and implements procedural adjustments based on areas of improvement.
    • Collaborates with cross-functional leadership to design and implement system improvements.
    • Ensures regular audits and follow up action plans are completed in a predictable and timely manner.
    • Leads change initiatives in collaboration with admissions and network leadership.


  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Establishes admissions team meeting and audit cadence in collaboration with the VP of Admissions and Group CEO.
  • Facilitates cross-functional team meetings as needed and requested.


Qualifications

What We Are Seeking/Education and Experience:

Position requires a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or closely related field; masters preferred. A minimum of five (5) years' closely related experience within the behavioral health field and three (3) years' of leadership experience in behavioral healthcare admissions are required.
