Portfolio Services
The Portfolio Services Department is a dynamic, fast-paced team that provides a broad spectrum of operational support for PPM's clients. The Department supports all asset management activities in the trade lifecycle, including portfolio management, trade execution, and client reporting. Functionally oriented teams include: Public Securities & Private Investment Operations, Derivatives Administration, Performance Analytics, Data Management and Business & Product Reporting. A high level of collaboration coupled with extensive cross-training promotes flexibility, scalability and professional development. Portfolio Services is centrally positioned to engage with PPM's investment and administrative teams to meet the firm's strategic objectives. The department maxim is to be indispensable to our clients through timely, complete and accurate execution of roles and responsibilities.
Summary
Public Securities Operations provides a centralized and coordinated function supporting PPM's public fixed income strategies across PPM's many business units. The team is responsible for trade processing and settlement activities, daily cash availability reporting, portfolio investment accounting. The team's day-to-day activities include direct engagement with various teams including Investment Management, Performance Analytics, Private Securities Operations, IT, internal and external service providers and clients. The team maintains a highly collegial and collaborative environment with clear operational accountabilities and a focus on skill development and advancement, use of technology, and process optimization.
Role Specifics
This role includes operational responsibilities for US and emerging market public fixed income instruments across a variety of client types and investment strategies. This role is expected to serve as a subject matter expert in operational fixed-income activities related to emerging market debt instruments. The candidate must be eager to participate in a team that handles a diverse range of functions and disciplines, highly nuanced accounts. The candidate must exhibit a high attention to accuracy and detail and a willingness to drive process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency. This role involves significant interaction with internal parties (traders, business development, portfolio managers, other PPM ops teams, etc.) as well as external parties such as brokers, counterparties, custodians, and clients).The role will be a proficient user of the Aladdin portfolio management system and related platforms within PPM's operational and systematic ecosystem.

Base Pay:
$104,000.00 - $125,000.00. The base salary for this position may vary depending on experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to the base salary, this role will be eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. This role will also be eligible for compensated personal time off and holidays, health benefits, 401(k) plan with generous matching and profit sharing contributions, and other benefit programs according to the Company's employment policies and subject to the formal terms of such plans and programs.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support various public fixed income related operational processes for client accounts including:
- Timely and accurate trade settlement processing
- Daily monitoring and reconciliation of portfolio holdings, cash and non-cash activities
- Processing and validation of all non-trade related activities occurring within client portfolios, including transfers, wires, principal & interest transactions, and miscellaneous activities
- Timely resolution and communication of discrepancies
- Communicate investable cash and cash event data to investment teams and other interested parties
- Coordinate and manage operational account onboarding and offboarding activities including:
- Account related operational documentation
- Account and sub-account system set-up
- Client service providers coordination
- Coordination of in-kind and cash transfers
- Validation of account and portfolio information, reporting requirements, and processing requirements.
- Respond to client and investment manager inquiries in a timely, complete and accurate manner
- Promote continual processes improvement by identifying, recommending and implementing change and automation
- Work collaboratively with other Public Investment Operations team members:
- Mentor and cross-train others on public operations responsibilities, particularly related to emerging market debt instruments
- Provide additional operational support where and when needed
- Provide back up support for the Private Securities Operations team and other operational areas on an ad hoc basis
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

- BS degree or equivalent, preferably in accounting, finance, economics, marketing, or a related discipline
- Broad knowledge and understanding of fixed income instruments and their characteristics including life-cycle events
- Demonstrated operational expertise related to emerging market debt instruments
- Minimum of five years of practical hands-on experience in asset management operations, with proficiency in emerging market debt operational processes and practices
- Trade Settlement and Reconciliation experience
- Exposure to and demonstrative proficiency with third-party tools used in financial services such as: Bloomberg, DTCC, ALERT, CTM, Trade Suite, Blackrock Aladdin or other portfolio accounting platform
- Basic understanding of institutional Corporate Action processing
- Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple deadlines and clientele simultaneously
- Experience in preparing accurate and timely reports, analysis and presentations for management and clients
- Unquestionable professional integrity
- Strong teamwork-based approach to work and collective activities
- Critical thinking, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving expertise
- Advanced proficiency with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Blackrock's Aladdin tool (highly desired)
- Proficiency in tools that promote data analysis, task automation, and/or visualization (i.e. Python, Power BI, JIRA, etc.)
- Additional credentials or progress toward an advanced degree or chartered industry designation (i.e., CFA, CPA, etc.)
