Reporting to the Manager of Learning and Development, the Talent Development Partner assesses, designs, implements, delivers, and evaluates training programs, career pathing, leadership, and other programs to support the talent development strategy of Eastern Bank. This role helps drive engagement, assists with talent review, and develops initiatives to further enhance talent within the company.

We are looking for someone who excels at building relationships, is a thought leader in talent development, has a strong professional presence in the classroom/meetings, a background in needs assessment, and has a passion for learning and growth.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate and Develop Management Training Programs:
  • Independently designs and facilitates training, including assessing needs, identifying learning objectives, developing, and sequencing content, applying adult learning principles, developing learning aides (guide cards, simulations, etc.), evaluating learning outcomes, and updating training design based on participant feedback.
  • Partners with Human Resources Business Partners:
  • Develops and implements career pathing program.
  • Conducts needs assessments and provides analysis on leadership needs across all business units to identify enterprise-wide competency gaps and execute activities and programming to close those gaps.
  • Develops short and long-term action plans to meet the business leadership requirements.
  • Accountable to deliver metrics that evaluate the effectiveness of leadership development activities.
  • Collaborates on the company's annual Talent Review process. Provides guidance on the creation, execution, and measurement of Development Plans for high potential employees.
  • Assists, as needed, with the identification of high-quality external training and development offerings and communicates them to targeted audiences.
  • Provides input on the talent management system to ensure successful integration with other HR systems and recommend upgrades based on organizational requirements.
  • Facilitates annual performance review training.
  • Special Projects

PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING:

Under the direction of the VP Learning and Development Manager, this position is responsible for needs analysis and determining possible solutions. This position will require independent decision making and collaboration with other groups within the company.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Human Resources or its equivalent in experience.
  • 5-7 years progressive Organizational Development programming experience in Human Resources.
  • 5+ years in a leadership/management role.

Skills/Knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent listening skills; ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the company, including senior management.
  • Advanced facilitation skills - virtual and in-person with the potential to develop further.
  • In-depth knowledge of program design and adult learning methods.
  • Needs assessment and development of plans to address opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships supporting collaborative work within Human Resources and across the company.
  • Excellent project management skills. Ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; can work within deadlines and prioritize multiple, detailed tasks.
  • Demonstrated excellence in all Microsoft Office Products, Articulate, and ZOOM.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail.
  • Follow-up, follow-through, and timely resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative, strategic, identify and streamline inefficiencies, and assist in the execution of key strategic HR initiatives.
  • Ability to infuse and drive energy into a training/meeting while driving inclusivity.

Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid. Working 1-2 days a week in the operations headquarters currently located in Lynn, MA office but likely to relocate near Wakefield in 2025. Travel to training locations (as needed) Boston, MA; Cambridge, MA; Saugus, MA; Taunton, MA; Bedford, NH; other locations as designated.
