Description:
Stanbridge University is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented AWS System Administrator to join our Information and Web Technology team. This role is critical to managing our AWS infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, and supporting cloud-based business applications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical proficiency, critical thinking abilities, and strong communication skills. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Information and Web Technology, this individual will be responsible for the configuration, monitoring, and management of our AWS environment.

Essential Functions:
- Manage the full AWS lifecycle including provisioning, security, and automation
- Migrate existing on-premises bare-metal and virtual environments to AWS
- Design and maintain multi-tier architectures
- Fine-tune and configure cloud infrastructure for optimal performance
- Perform kernel patching, errata updates, and software upgrades
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Maintain secure access controls and data integrity within AWS applications
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and scalability
- AWS Certification required
- Must be on-site in Irvine, CA
- Experience with Route 53, EC2, RDS, Aurora, Lambda, Certificate Manager, API Gateway, WAF & Shield, Load Balancing, VPC, VPN, ElastiCache, S3, Glacier, MediaConvert, CloudFront, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, IAM, cost forecasting and management
- Working knowledge of Terraform
- Solid understanding of AWS architectural best practices
- Experience with on-prem virtualization (e.g., VMware, XenServer)
- 1-2 years of experience as an on-premises Systems Administrator
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals: DNS, TCP/IP, Firewalls
- Proven experience in designing and operating secure, fault-tolerant AWS systems
- Pay Range: $75,000 - $115,000 per year (dependent on experience and education)
- Must be physically present in the office to perform all job duties
