Azure Cloud Architect - Hybrid

Job Description:
As an Azure Cloud Architect, you will advise the agency on architecture and security concerns related to Azure, including in-place migrations and refactoring. You will provide recommendations on lift and shift strategies, on-premises to cloud-native migrations, and refactoring within the Azure environment. Additionally, you will conduct testing to demonstrate a minimal viable product of an architecture, understand offerings from connected parties, configure Azure-based services to support client objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise client on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure, including in-place migrations and refactoring.
• Make recommendations on lift and shift and on-premises to cloud-native migrations.
• Provide recommendations for refactoring within the Azure environment.
• Conduct testing within Azure to demonstrate a minimal viable product of an architecture.
• Understand available offerings from connected parties.
• Make configurations to Azure in support of client-level objectives, primarily to Azure-based services.
• Sign Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• 5+ years of experience as an on-premises architect.
• Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals.
• Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications.
• Knowledge and experience in designing cloud solutions that meet business requirements across all design aspects.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Azure network and storage architectures.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Services (e.g., Azure Key Vault, Entra ID).
• Strong knowledge and experience with Azure Functions, Azure Web App/App Service, Containers, micro-services architecture, and server-less architecture.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security principles including zero-trust, network segmentation, just-in-time access, and conditional access.
• Knowledge of availability options and demonstrated experience architecting solutions that meet RPO and RTO objectives in Azure.
• Effective documentation writing, including professional position papers and architecture documentation.
• Experience in managing cloud-based security posture activities, including vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense architecture, and encryption in transit.
• Knowledge and experience in DevOps, including Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
• Knowledge and experience with data storage products like SQL Server and Oracle; knowledge of non-relational data storage products like Cosmos DB.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and business staff.
• Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect (please upload cert under reference tab).

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $85.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
