Senior Snowflake Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Enhance Data Solutions: Lead the development efforts for projects such as Datamarts and Client Analytics, ensuring scalable and efficient solutions.
  • Snowflake Administration & Optimization: Manage Snowflake accounts, support the control plane, and optimize performance for Snowflake workloads.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work within an Agile framework to implement best software development practices and share expertise with the team.
  • Cross-functional Engagement: Partner with product owners, quality engineers, and other stakeholders to design and implement effective data architectures.
  • Innovation & Future Planning: Conduct quick Proof of Value (PoV) assessments for upcoming Snowflake cloud features to evaluate their impact and feasibility.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Snowflake Expertise: Extensive experience administering Snowflake DB, including metadata schemas and internals.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Proficiency in GitLab and experience with automation in CI/CD pipelines.
  • BI Integration: Strong background in integrating Snowflake with various BI tools.
  • SQL Mastery: Deep knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Cloud Services: Hands-on experience with distributed cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Big Data & Streaming: Experience with distributed data loading tools such as Kafka, Snowpark, and Spark.
  • Database Management: Working knowledge of both relational and in-memory databases, including Oracle, Vertica, and Hazelcast.
  • Security & Compliance: Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols in cloud services.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in spoken and written English, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AI/ML Experience: Exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications in data engineering.
  • Financial Industry Expertise: Knowledge of investment industry data and analytics.
  • Advanced Software Development: Strong programming and software development skills.
