The Bacteriology Staff Scientist supports in vitro and in vivo studies of bacterial threat agents. This role involves development of animal models and execution of immunological and microbiological studies.
What You'll Do in Your New Role
- Perform bacterial culture, quantification, and challenge studies.
- Support vaccine and therapeutic evaluations.
- Analyze experimental data and contribute to reports.
- Collaborate across divisions on research initiatives.
- Maintain lab safety and bio surety compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology or biomedical sciences.
- 4+ years in bacteriology or related research field.
- Experience in animal model development.
- Knowledge of microbial pathogenesis.
- Familiarity with GLP/BSL-2/3 compliance.
- Technical writing and team collaboration skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher preferred.
