  • Description:
    The Battery Lifecycle Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development of internal and external end of life strategy, participating in trade and standard association activities, and assisting in the coordination of end of life battery disposition and remanufacturing efforts. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
    Supports development of internal and external policy, guidance and documentation on battery lifecycle topics
    Tracks/communicates end of life related draft/final global regulations for PR&VC
    Supports recycling/repurposing/remanufacturing and related projects in North America
    Represents PR&VC in internal meetings where repurposing and recycling are discussed and/or needs to be included in documentation
    Representative for battery specific trade association and standards development organization for recycling and repurposing topics
    Determines and assists in coordination of the final disposition of end of life batteries (supported with information from remanufacturing and warranty return engineer)
  • Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering or science discipline from an ABET or ABET equivalently accredited university
    Minimum 5 years' experience with project management
    Minimum 3 years' experience with automotive battery recycling and second life
    Minimum 2 years' experience in regulatory development or working with trade/standard organizations
    Strong oral and written communications skills
    Strong organizational skills

    Preferred Requirements:
    Master's degree in Engineering or science discipline from an ABET or ABET equivalently accredited university
    Knowledge of vehicle and/or battery end of life infrastructure
    Strong proactive and reactive engineering problem solving skills
    Minimum 5 years' experience in regulatory development or working with trade/standards organizations
    Minimum 5 years' experience with automotive battery recycling and second life
