Duties: A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in schools can be filled with meeting students, parents, and or teachers, preparing paperwork, and planning programs. The BCBA's overall goal is to assist in the management of behavior that is deemed unsafe. The BCBA will work directly with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff that work with such students. Design and implement data collection systems and assist in the interpretation of that data. He or she will help solve behavior-related issues through a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: ensuring that treatment plans are followed accurately, offering constructive feedback, and fostering an environment of learning and growth which may include professional development training for staff followed up with coaching and modeling as needed. The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst reports directly to the Director of Student Services.
Responsibilities:
Maintain proper daily attendance and punctuality. Ensure and document all contact with the student(s). Maintain open lines of communication with parents with documentation. Within 48-72 hours of notification will conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of student(s). This involves collecting and analyzing various data tools used as well. Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the function of challenging behaviors as needed. Assist in the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as needed. Create/develop individualized treatment plans for each client based on their goals and needs. Monitor the progress of individuals and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed for all students on caseload. Support teaching staff and para's via coaching, modeling, and or professional development training. Meet with families, teachers, and or paras to discuss treatment and progress. Provide and or recommend needed resource tools. Display excellent communication and writing skills to maintain detailed notes, create curriculum, analyze and edit reports, and discuss cases with other colleagues and service providers. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications: A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) has a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. BCBAs are independent practitioners who can provide behavior-analytic services. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in behavior interventions and strategies. Highly collaborative personal qualities and commitment to professional development. Dedicated to working with all students to support their success academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally. The position also requires the candidate to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
