As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the principal owners and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company and will be directly accountable for all financial, risk management / control, tax compliance, development of a financial operational strategy, reporting accurate financial results.

As Chief Financial Officer, a typical day might include the following:
- Developing and directing the implementation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives with ownership
- Creating and managing financial budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated reporting processes
- Participating in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
- Directing and overseeing all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization
- Recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating department staff
- Coordinating the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports in a timely and accurate manor
- Creating, implementing, and streamlining process and procedures utilizing technology and information systems
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax reporting requirements
- Analyzing cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyzing financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas
- Ensuring records systems are maintained in accordance with GAAP, external audit, and government agencies.
- Understanding and mitigating key elements of the company's risk profile
- Monitoring all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
- Ensuring that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate internal control safeguards
- Working with external CPA firm on annual tax filings and investor K-1's
- Establishing and implementing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with external financial partners
Requirements
This job might be for you if you demonstrate the following abilities and meet the following qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a progressively responsible financial leadership roles within a major company or division of a large corporation required
- Hospitality or retail industry experience preferred
- Master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and/or CPA
- Should have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills
- Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
- Ability to lead and facilitate group meetings
- Workday experience highly desired

- This position is located in beautiful new office at The Hub on Causeway with scenic views of the Zakim bridge. This full-time role is office-based but does have some flexibility for a hybrid schedule
