Description:
General Purpose:The Billing Supervisor supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the Billing staff responsible for the timely preparation and processing of the Denver office accounts and other assigned billing. Acts as a liaison to attorneys, staff, and clients to identify and resolve billing issues, and establish and maintain relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations. Provides assistance as needed to the Billing Manager, Client Accounts Manager, and other staff of the Financial Services Department.

CO Salary Range: $70,738.43 - $117,897.38. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees daily activities of the billing function by scheduling the workflow and providing direction to Billing Specialists and Technicians.
- Reviews prebills to prioritize and assign preparation schedules, and tracks for timely return for final processing. Initiates follow-up requests with billing attorneys regarding delinquent prebills.
- Reviews and audits final bills for accuracy, including rate set-up and calculation, compliance with client billing guidelines, use of client credits or trust funds, proper method for write-offs, and appropriate approvals obtained.
- Responsible for assisting management, attorneys, clients and collections staff with billing and accounting questions, including reports and account reconciliations.
- Implements client e-billing initiatives, following through to completion. Reviews and submits e-files, including resolution of rejection issues, tracking of successful submissions and coordination with regional staff and collection staff where appropriate.
- Takes an active role in the preparation and presentation of materials for department and regional conference meetings, as well as software upgrades as they relate to the billing function.
- Prepares contingent invoices for Client Accounts Manager's review. Prepares documentation for Bill of Costs as needed.
- Performs detailed billing functions as necessary due to volume, and coverage for staff out of the office.
- Participates in the hiring, training, evaluation, discipline and career development of billing staff.
- Works closely with the Client Accounts Manager and other Financial Services staff on month end closing. Coordinates all special client requirements for year end closing.
- Performs other functions assigned by the Client Accounts Manager or Director of Finance.

- With the assistance of HR and the department head, manage employee discipline and, when necessary, termination in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):
- Requires a detail-oriented individual with advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting software and basic accounting principles acquired from five or more years' experience and/or advanced education. Prior Law Firm and CMS experience a plus.
- Requires analytical skills to apply knowledge to practical situations and the ability to foresee problems and effect solutions.
- Requires the ability to maintain a leadership role while working under pressure, meeting deadlines in an accurate manner with consistently high production.
- Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and above average typing skills.
- Requires exemplary organizational, planning, and proofreading skills. Must be able to provide training and leadership with poise and confidence and be able to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels within the firm.
- Maintains knowledge and expertise to stay current with changes in procedures, policies and system upgrades. Identifies opportunities to improve procedures, and initiates implementation of new and innovative ideas to better serve our clients.
