Position Overview:
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst provides consultation to special education teams for behavioral, environmental, and instructional support to develop strategies and interventions to maximize student achievement in the least restrictive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with teachers and instructional assistants on comprehensive campuses to develop targeted interventions for students when the school teams need to explore alternative strategies
- Assist teachers and instructional assistants in identifying and addressing student academic and behavioral needs
- Describe and model for teachers and instructional assistants evidence-based teaching strategies, techniques, and adaptations to meet the academic and behavioral needs of students
- Assist the Coordinator of Behavior Services in conducting functional behavioral assessments and positive behavior intervention plans, including data collection, interviews, and observations
- Provide follow up support to school based staff on the training, implementation, and evaluation of positive behavior intervention plans
- Provide guidance and training to teachers in universal design for learning (UDL) and adapting instructional materials and lesson plans to enable students to access the general curriculum
- Communicate with the appropriate Director of Student Support Systems and the Coordinator of Behavior Services on the status of students receiving supports
- Exhibit professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the work unit
Additional Duties:
- Performs other related tasks assigned by Supervisor and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent. It is essential to note that the above description is illustrative and not exhaustive.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
- State licensure or certification as a School Psychologist.
- Experience in conducting psychological assessments and providing counseling services in an educational setting.
- Commitment to educational equity, inclusivity, and community empowerment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Education and/or Experience:
- Master's Degree (M.A.) in Education or related field (preferred)
- State licensure or certification as a School Psychologist.
- Minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in the field (preferred)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Valid Arizona State licensure or certification in field.
Working Environment:
- The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- May be required to travel to various school district buildings and attend professional meetings as needed, actively participating in the collective efforts to empower the community.
- Salary schedule commensurate with education and experience for this position
- 192 work days per Board approved work calendar

Evaluation:
- Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the District Administration in accordance with the Governing Board Policy.
