POSITION SUMMARY:
The BCBA will be responsible for developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct initial assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Implement assessment goals, behavior plans, and ongoing monitoring of progress within each child's program.
- Interface with caregivers and other professionals communicating the rationale of behavioral intervention in general and how the program designed for a specific child is resulting in significant change.
- Traincaregivers/staff on positive behavioral strategies in the home, school, or community.
- Supervise behavior technicians and registered behavior technicians.
- Collaborate with team members.
- Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.
- Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
- Serve as a role model for students in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Student Services Director or designee.
- BCBA with current certification and state licensure
- At least 1 year experience as a Behavior Analyst providing services in the home and community environment is preferred.
- Must have a strong background in setting up language programs to facilitate the acquisition of communication skills.
- Consultants should be able to work with children with various abilities and be able to develop and supervise the implementation of programs in the clinic, home, school, and community environments.
- Motivated, excellent work ethic, high degree of quality work.
- Able to work independently and as a team member demonstrating professionalism in all settings.
- Candidates must be flexible and willing to grow and develop skills as a Behavior Analyst.
- Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
- Exposure to blood or other bodily fluids and tissue.
- Exposure to hazardous athletic equipment.
- Must be available for education related purposes outside the instructional day when requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather; that is, being prepared to come to school on all scheduled days, except calamity days.
