The Augusta GA Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our dedicated team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality emergency medical care to our nation's Veterans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care, demonstrate clinical excellence, and be committed to improving outcomes in a fast- paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage acute and life-threatening medical emergencies.
- Perform high-acuity emergency procedures including, but not limited to, intubation, central line placement, cricothyrotomy, and pericardiocentesis.
- Provide oversight and supervision to Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants).
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the VA's electronic health record
(EHR) system, in accordance with VA policy.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and required compliance programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
Minimum Qualifications
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent emergency department (ED) experience preferred.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Valid DEA registration (if prescribing controlled substances).
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Credentialing & Privileging Requirements
- Completion of Focused Provider Practice Evaluation (FPPE) upon onboarding.
- Ongoing ProviderPracticeEvaluation(OPPE)conducted quarterly.
- Must comply with ACEP guidelines for emergency care standards.
- Completion of annual HIPAA training and VA EHR system competency required.
