Position Summary:

The Branch Sales and Service Manager will lead branch employees to achieve branch and credit union goals. Responsible for directing and administering the strategic and operational efforts of the branch ensuring the branch meets or exceeds organizational growth, sales and service goals. Responsible for generating new revenue opportunities in and around the existing branch market. Ensures established policies and procedures are followed. Oversees the full range of services to members and prospective members. Through targeted sales goals, works to deepen existing relationships with members and new members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates an exceptional positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times.
  • Resolves complex service problems or refers for resolution to ensure member satisfaction and retention.
  • Provides proactive sales tasks of products and services. Directs branch business development through outside calls, in-branch selling and branch targeted correspondence.
  • Build relationships with members through follow up of services.
  • Responsible for efficient branch operations through continued assessment and improvements.
  • Leads by example by originating new loans, new deposit accounts, and all other services available to membership.
  • Monitors and reports branch activities in key performance areas.
  • Develops and recommends annual branch performance targets in both team and individual expectations.
  • Coaches, guides and directs branch staff to proactively maximize sales activities/opportunities related to retail deposits, lending, and all other services available to our membership.
  • Promotes the professional development of branch staff through individual and group training.
  • Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations. Encourages and monitors staff growth with regular (no less frequent than quarterly) one on one performance updates and developing sales plans.
  • Responsible for branch staffing requirements; recruiting, vetting, interviewing and hiring new branch staff.
  • Oversees the daily scheduling of branch staff; Coordinates, tracks and monitors daily scheduling within those that report directly to this position including overtime, leave of absences, PTO, etc.
  • Prepares and conducts performance evaluations, prepares documentation for retention in personnel files. Working with HR, recommends and implements disciplinary actions and appropriate staff counseling within the department as needed.
  • Maintain and adheres to all established safety guidelines and maintain appropriate credit union procedures and processes including confidentiality of member information.
  • Ensure compliance with all company regulations and industry policies and procedures.
  • Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and /or credit union sponsored events on an annual basis.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Education
    • Must have three to five years' credit union or related experience; at least two years' supervisory experience with leadership and team-building skills preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in Financial Management or related field is required.

    • Communications involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Accuracy and attention to detail in both oral and written communication is a must.
    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills required to manage, motivate, and develop employees.
    • Uphold confidentiality and customer privacy in all situations.
    • Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
    • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, projects, and procedures.
    • Conflict resolution and/or mediation skills.
    • Computer literacy/experience to include intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams.
    • Proactively seeks solutions that benefit the member and the Credit Union while exhibiting sound and accurate judgment.
  • Abilities & Additional Requirements
    • Ability, availability, and willingness to work flexible hours to accomplish workload. The job will require a non-traditional workweek with extra hours including evening and/or weekend duties.

Physical Functions: Physical requirements involve performing general office activities. This role will require you to regularly sit and talk for long durations. The role will also frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, and will occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Working Environment: Normal climate-controlled office setting with moderate noise.
