Job Summary and Qualifications:

In coordination with the Brand team, the brand manager supports the development and execution of enterprise brand strategies to meet organizational goals, drive engagement with and build the reputation of HCA Healthcare's brand family. Serves marketing to support brand leadership in implementing key strategic projects and ensuring goals are met, including managing relationships with key partners, developing scalable tools and resources, and creating high impact communications and frameworks.

What you will do in this role:

Marketing Initiative Implementation: In collaboration with corporate marketing leaders, execute strategic marketing initiatives, including definition of project approach through success measurement

  • Align with key stakeholders to develop standards, processes and documentation for initiatives; incorporates strategic and standardized processes to build scalable projects and initiatives
  • Facilitate decision-making that is required to uphold brand standards
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships through high quality, engaged service to all of key internal and external stakeholders
  • Assemble models, frameworks, tools & resources to successfully maintain brand initiatives
  • Determine appropriate reporting metrics to clearly articulate successes and identify opportunities to change
  • Collaborate on comprehensive brand project communications, including tools and processes, to facilitate brand alignment across the enterprise
  • Proactively track and measure initiatives progress towards goals. Utilize consistent processes to track and measure performance.
  • Identify current and future risks to success, develop recommendations for mitigation strategies, and work proactively with leadership to mitigate
  • Provide critical evaluation of progress against business goals, define recommendations for optimization or further evaluation or investment
  • Develop materials to communicate strategic approach, dependencies and other project variables to key stakeholders


Strategic Planning: Supports development of brand initiatives aligned with the enterprise brand strategic plan

  • Support Brand and Marketing leaders in developing and implementing enterprise and market level strategies that promote HCA Healthcare's colleague and consumer-facing brands
  • Serve as advisor and thought leader to internal business units on brand strategy, business impact and opportunity identification and assessment
  • Lead discovery efforts to identify opportunities, quantify business impact, and provide solution recommendations for new and existing initiatives
  • Develop initiative business cases and proposals that include background analysis, strategy definition, project approach, resourcing, budgeting, and timing
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative research to guide strategy and execution
  • Lead discussions with key internal and external partners to identify new opportunities


Executive Management Facilitation:

  • Takes a lead role in the preparation of presentation materials for executive management, business area leaders, committees and facility leader gatherings.

Brand Operations:

  • Manage reporting and assist in budget tracking as related to execution of key initiatives
  • Support management of agencies, vendors, and external partners as related to execution of Market Initiatives

Team leadership and development:

  • Leads, monitors, and supervises employees to achieve goals that contribute to the success of the organization.


What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Communication - Exhibits excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for a variety of internal and external audiences. Ability to communicate with corporate executives, Market executives, physicians, administrators, and administrators while exhibiting sensitivity to politics among departments, organizations, and partners. Excels in facilitation to move projects forward with minimal oversight.
  • Organization - Creates and organizes calendars and plans. Exhibits excellent organizational and project management expertise, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects, effectively communicating upwards with risks and issues as needed. Proactively identifies ways to mitigate potential risk areas.
  • Leadership - displays leadership skills including consensus building while also effective in direct management of employees. Very strong strategic, analytical, communication, negotiation, and general business skills required.
  • Strategic Orientation - Capable of seeing the broader picture of multi-faceted systems while thinking tactically at the operational level to identify multiple points of leverage in a system for change
  • Collaboration - willing and able to work with others, including building relationships, offering and gathering timely and honest feedback, and working with people who think differently
  • Planning - begins with the end in mind; defines the desired outcomes of projects. Uses project management theory tools as appropriate; works in a timely manner; organizes time and work to enhance productivity; prioritizes work according to goals; Honors others' time.
  • Problem Solving - Works proactively with other departments; willing to do what it takes to accomplish team and individual goals and needs; develops a pro/con analysis to assess significant decisions; Displays a can-do attitude.
  • Professionalism - Maintains a professional approach to confidential information. Must be sensitive to political, cultural and legal issues affecting hospital system operations.
  • Tools - Utilizes various professional and tools including MS Office, Workfront and Sharepoint. Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Demeanor - High enthusiasm, creativity and desire to work on an innovative team. Ability to function both independently and as a team member. High degree of composure in tense situations
