Responsibilities
What you'll be challenged to do:
Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Bridge Engineer 2 to join one of the following Texas office locations: Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, or Dallas. This position will perform NBIS bridge inspections, design, load rating and bridge assessment of highway or railroad bridges. Applicants must possess strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in the field conducting bridge assessments and must be able to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.

The range for this position is salary range is $75,000 - $120,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Participate in structural engineering assignments as part of a NBIS bridge inspection or design team.
- Take part in structure inspection assignments. Take photos & measurements; produce sketches.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports documenting inspection findings.
- Perform engineering calculations and prepare MicroStation/CADD drawings as required.
- Utilize engineering analysis software to perform LRFD ratings of bridges.
- Other duties as may be assigned to meet business needs
Qualifications
What you'll bring to our firm:
- Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering field.
- EIT or a PE License, or can obtain one within 6 months.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in structural engineering assignments for DOTs or Railroads.
- Ability to clearly describe observations and convey information with sketches and technical writing.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, AREMA, AISC and ACI design codes.
- Ability to solve problems and plan tasks with an understanding of 'Critical Path Management'.
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
- Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.
Computer Equipment and Software Required or Recommended:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- AASHTOWare BrR / Midas Civil / CSI Bridge
- BrM/AssetWise Inspection Reporting
- CADD (AUTOCAD or Bentley MicroStation)
What we prefer you bring:
- Minimum of 6+ years of bridge design, load rating or inspection experience.
- Experience in LRFD & LRFR of Highway Bridges.
- National Highway Institute accreditation in Inspection of In-Service and NSTM Bridges.
- Local Candidates preferred.
