Description:
PRIME AE Group, Inc. seeks Bridge Engineer in Baltimore, MD. This position is eligible for the employee referral program.
Work on Bridge Designs projects for vehicular bridge projects for State DOT's or as part of a Design Build team, rail, or Department of Defense bridges. Provide engineering services to contractors such as the design of temporary structures and erection and demolition schemes. Perform planning analysis and design review/escalation of bridge projects ranging from culvert designs and bridge rehabilitation projects to conventional or innovative bridge types. Review and approve structural design calculations and structural modeling. Review proposed geometric layout, review drawings, and develop quantities and specifications. Review and approve design calculations, construction cost estimates, and plan development produced by other Engineers. Act as liaison with operating units, agencies, and outside officials regarding policies and procedures. Inspect bridges in accordance with applicable manuals. Prepare inspection notes and sketches covering all bridge defects noted.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in structural engineering. Alternatively, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in structural engineering; or a Doctorate in Civil Engineering, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in structural engineering. Additionally, position requires any amount of experience in each of the following:
1. AutoCAD and MicroStation.
2. Structural analysis software including LARSA, SAP, or STAAD.
3. Structural design software including LEAP or BDS products.
4. Bridge rating software including LARS, and AASHTOWare.
5. Microsoft Office and MathCad.
6. MDOT or SHA project experience.
7. All aspects of bridge design projects, including structural analysis and design computations for new or rehabilitated bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, pipes, and other transportation structures for MDOT SHA and/or local agencies.
8. Requires a P.E. License Certificate or Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers Certification.
