Budget and Finance Manager

Renowned Higher Education Organization is seeking a Budget & Finance Manager. Reporting to the CFO, the Budget & Finance manager must have strong excel experience + 5-7 years of experience. Responsibilities are as follows:

Job Responsibilities:

• Reports to the Chief Financial Officer and supports the Department's financial team on transaction management, budgets, and reporting
• This position is a mid-level manager position. Candidate must have strong Excel experience.
• Reports to the Chief Financial Officer and supports the Department's financial team on transaction management, budgets, and reporting
• Supports Department's annual budget submissions and quarterly budget forecasts and fiscal year-end close processes
• Reconciles monthly expenses and reviews any necessary budget changes with the CFO
• Monitors department accounts and manage transaction entries including:
• Journal entries to clear overdrafts or fund accounts
• Inter-department transfer entries
• Supports account allocations for Department's faculty, researchers, and staff including:
• Salary allocation and cost transfers for all funding sources (e.g. faculty practice, NYP pass-through, grants, endowments) including coordinating with other colleagues
• Suspense account clearing
• Works with the finance team on preparation of monthly reports on grant/contract revenues and expenses
• Prepare ad-hoc reports for the CFO, as assigned
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Advanced Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, lookups) skills are required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to use good judgment in handling confidential financial data
• Strong work ethic with ability to manage multiple priorities along with a strong desire to be an actively engaged team member
• Minimum 5 to 7 years' experience
• Bachelor's Degree

Compensation: $46-$48/ Hour
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
