Job Description
We are currently looking for a Building Mechanical Engineer to join our Calgary office.
The successful candidate will provide mechanical engineering/consulting services with a primary focus in building services design. You will design functional and sustainable facilities that are user and operator-friendly and enhance the overall community. You will have experience in a range of market sectors which could include the following: government and emergency services, water and wastewater facilities, education, sport and recreation. Further, you will have experience in business development and the preparation of proposals.
Your responsibilities will include preparing reports, detailed drawings, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents as well as participating in mentoring, scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration and inspection. You will engage in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices.

Job Requirements
What you will bring:
Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Registered, or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
5+ years progressive experience in Mechanical Engineering within the consulting engineering environment.
Proficiency in building load analysis software.
Proficiency in AutoCad and/or Revit is an asset.
Experience with the assessment and design of building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
Experience with energy audits and energy modelling is an asset.
Ability to collaborate in a multidiscipline design team and communicate to achieve project objectives.
Ability to conduct site reviews to assess condition, determine progress, deficiencies, and enforce contract documents.
Ability to problem solve and demonstrate innovative thinking.
Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
