THIS POSITION REQUIRES FULL-TIME, ON-SITE PRESENCE IN SANTA FE.

The Financial Control Division within the Department of Finance & Administration is the state's financial oversight body.

Why does the job exist?

This position requires advanced professional expertise to address complex accounting and reporting challenges in a state governmental environment. Under minimal supervision, the successful candidate will apply GAAP, GAGAS, and GASB standards while overseeing compliance with federal and state statutes.

How does it get done?

Responsibilities include required reporting of federal financial assistance to the U.S. Treasury/other federal awarding agencies, managing statewide federal financial assistance compliance, monitoring SEFA and Single Audit requirements, preparing the Statewide Cost Allocation Plan (SWCAP), conducting internal audits to assess compliance with federal requirements, and identify areas for improvement/contributing to financial system development . Additionally, this role may include direct supervision of other accounting and reporting professionals.

Ideal Candidate

2-3 years governmental accounting experience.
2-3 years federal grant reporting experience.
2-3 years management or supervision experience.

Minimum Qualification

A Bachelor's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a light strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling twelve (12) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include management, supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
