About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About you:

You are a self-driven and detail-oriented individual capable of analyzing, documenting, and optimizing business processes and requirements related to our payments and ledger systems. You have experience collaborating closely with stakeholders from various departments, including technology, operations, and compliance, to ensure the successful delivery of system enhancements, new features, and regulatory changes. Your background includes reconciliation, requirements management, and extensive work with business users, programmers, and Quality Assurance. You thrive in a growth-focused organization that emphasizes ongoing development and career growth.

About the qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of experience as a business analyst in banking, payments, settlement, money movement, reconciliation, or related functions.
  • You have 3+ experience with reconciliation, resolving unmatched items and payment related investigations.
  • You can demonstrate accounting principles and practices involving financial record keeping, journal entry preparation, account analysis and reconciliation.
  • You possess experience with relevant Payment rails including ACSS for AFT's, Interac e-Transfers, and Real-time Rail.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all aspects of the product, including operations, compliance, launch processes, and system functionality.
  • Proven experience in contributing to project planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Provide support during system implementation, including user training and post-implementation activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to payments and batch processing.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite, Visio, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and workflows.


About the day-to-day:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify business needs and understand client requirements.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute business systems analysis activities for both waterfall and agile projects.
  • Drive business and systems requirements through discovery, analysis, and validation.
  • Use appropriate elicitation techniques to facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business and technology stakeholder groups.
  • Lead client integrations into the Clearing and Reconciliations platforms, support projects, and various initiatives as the SME for Peoples Trust's payment processing platform.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve client reconciliation issues.
  • Work independently while being a strong team collaborator.


Compensation:

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. In addition, we are pleased to offer employees both group benefits and the option to participate in our RRSP matching program, beginning the first day of employment. Salary for this position will vary between $90,000 and $100,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses. As part of our recruiting process, shortlisted candidates will be asked their salary expectations for this position.
