We are seeking a System Support Lead responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS), Michigan Syndromic Surveillance System (MSSS), and other public health applications. This role requires a skilled individual who can ensure operational efficiency, data integrity, and compliance within a dynamic public health environment.
Requirements
- Develop high-level functional requirement documents and detailed functional designs.
- Perform business requirements analysis, conduct gap analysis, and develop user stories for agile development projects.
- Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including gathering requirements and writing specifications for complex projects.
- Develop and implement test plans, create test data, and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Maintain and update system documentation in response to system upgrades or changes.
- Provide application oversight and support to business analysts within the team.
- Assist with the implementation of system changes and monitor applications during peak production times.
- Develop training content and user manuals to facilitate end-user support.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in business analysis for complex computer systems.
- 8+ years of experience in developing functional requirements, test plans, and test cases.
- 5+ years of experience with CMM/CMMI Level 3 methods and practices.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile development processes, including test-driven development.
- Proficiency in SQL and/or PL/SQL; Oracle preferred.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and working with HIPAA data.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience in public health IT systems or similar environments.
