The Laborers Funds Administrative Office of Northern California, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation providing administrative services under contractual agreements for Northern California Laborers Trust Funds. We employ over 100 employees and provide services for over 30,000 Laborers and beneficiaries in the various employee benefit plans we administer since 1963.

The Role:

The Business Analyst I will be facilitating interdepartmental business and system support along with project management functions to Taft-Hartley Trust Fund Administrative Office, incorporated to self-administer union negotiated fringe benefit packages through the Northern California District Council of Laborers (NCDCL). Ultimately responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of a project. This position is largely responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and direct insertion of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) practices into new and existing processes.

How you'll make an impact:
  • Analyzing and modeling existing business processes, with the intent to identify areas for improvement.
  • Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify, translate business requirement needs, define the scope of projects into scalable system driven solutions.
  • Report to project stakeholders and senior management regarding status of projects.
  • Manage project schedules and maintain a fully transparent company-wide project and priority list.
  • Participate in Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Functionality Testing.
  • Provide analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.
  • Continuously improve and optimize processes through automation and assist with documenting procedures and workflow.
  • Attend various meetings, such as Project Control and division coordination meetings.
  • Abides by all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with internal staff training video and knowledge base initiative.
  • Assist the Director of Benefits with assignments and projects.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Fund Manager or its designated representative.


What we are looking for:
  • 3-5 years of similar or related experience in business processes and system improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Analytics, or a similar degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Jaspersoft), database (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MariaDB, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Ability to interface between technology teams, support teams, and business units.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with employees, members and other departments to achieve desired outcome.
  • Detail oriented with attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to produce clear and precise documentation to support multiple points of ingestion.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve problems by gathering necessary information to make an effective resolution.
  • Accountable for driving and maintaining team performance.
  • Self- motivated to develop effective ways to improve process and system.
  • Discretion with ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to conduct workshops and training sessions.
  • Motivated to acquire skills in areas necessary to enhance job performance, such as, but not limited to SQL, Java, Team Building, Meeting Management, QA/QC Standards, Business Intelligence tools, Agile/Scrum, UI Technologies, HTML 5.0, Confluence

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below:

$72,000-$100,861 USD

This position requires 5+ hours per day sitting, walking, talking and listening. Extensive computer use.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and overhead fluorescent lighting, low levels of office noise.

This position must be available to work unscheduled hours with a very short notice to correct unexpected problems that develop in the company's computer systems.
