Responsibilities
The Business Analyst II position performs advanced business analysis in the planning and implementation of a metadata library project. The contractor will assist the Office of Data Governance (ODG) and Information Technology (IT) teams as well as programs across the agency with developing and implementing standardized documentation of business and technical metadata for all agency data in agency data governance tools. The contractor will also assist with other data governance priorities, as needed.
The business analyst must be able to clearly communicate (verbally and in writing) with a variety of stakeholders as job duties include working directly with public health program staff on a daily basis. Additional job duties include planning, monitoring, and reporting on program engagement and progress towards meeting the goals of a fully documented metadata library. Attention to detail and ability to keep up with and distinguish between a variety of program areas will be critical in this fast-paced project. The business analyst must be self-motivating with strong initiative and work ethic. Experience in documenting business and technical metadata and working with public health data is preferred.
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Experienced with business process reengineering and identifying new applications of technology to business problems to make business more effective. Familiar with industry standard business process mapping, and reengineering. Prepares solution options, risk identification, and financial analyses such as cost/benefit, ROI, buy/build, etc. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
**Location of job: Hybrid-1 day remote (Fridays) with 4 day required to be onsite at the location listed above. Program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position.**
