Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Surety Insurance policy administration systems to support underwriting initiatives and associated technologies.

This role involves working on medium-scale projects and enhancements, partnering with stakeholders, vendors, and IT teams to gather requirements and drive strategic and transformational business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements for projects and system enhancements.
• Act as a liaison between IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendor partners.
• Analyze business processes to help define system scope and objectives based on user needs.
• Identify and recommend solution options and support the implementation through to production.
• Provide subject matter expertise in Surety Insurance to support project teams.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Create user support materials such as Quick Reference Guides, SOPs, and job aids.
• Support operational turnover activities and ensure smooth transition post-deployment.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls during job execution and project delivery.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with IT team members, business units, and senior management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, specifically within the Surety Insurance domain.
• Proven experience writing business requirements and functional specifications.
• Ability to translate complex business and data needs into technical requirements.
• Strong communication skills" both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated self-starter capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Insurance certifications.
• Experience in the P&C sector or within an Insurtech environment.
