Job Title: Business Applications Manager - Retail Production Systems

Salary Range: $90,000 - 110,000

Location: Seattle - Administration

Job Summary:

Evergreen Goodwill is seeking a Business Applications Manager - Retail Production Systems to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the systems that support our donated goods processing and resale pipeline. This role will serve as the strategic and tactical lead for a portfolio of retail production technologies, including conveyance systems, imaging/scanning tools, sorting workflows, and system integrations between platforms. This role will work cross-functionally with retail operations, production staff, IT, external vendors, and engineering teams to turn operational needs into smart, scalable, and mission-aligned technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Process & Requirements Design:
  • Partner with production and retail stakeholders to map end-to-end workflows and define system needs.
  • Translate operational pain points into functional requirements for new or improved applications.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improved data capture across the production lifecycle.


System Implementation & Support:
  • Lead or support the implementation of production-related systems, including conveyor controls, imaging stations, scanning equipment, labeling, and system interfaces.
  • Manage day-to-day functionality of retail production applications, ensuring uptime, reliability, and scalability.
  • Own vendor relationships and service contracts related to production systems.

Technology Integration & Innovation:
  • Work across the IT team to develop integration strategies between production systems and broader enterprise platforms (e.g., inventory, POS, logistics, reporting).
  • Collaborate with engineering and data teams on testing and deploying emerging technologies (e.g., computer vision, automated classification, AI-assisted workflows).
  • Help pilot and scale new tech within the production environment, balancing innovation with real-world usability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between operations, IT, and vendors for all retail production applications.
  • Create documentation, training, and support materials for frontline users.
  • Champion a feedback loop with frontline production staff to ensure systems evolve alongside their needs.

Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation related to business application systems, processes, and training materials.
  • Develop and present periodic status reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience in retail systems, operations technology, or business applications management will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience managing business or operational systems in a retail, logistics, production, or warehouse environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business workflows and operational needs into system requirements
  • Proven experience implementing or supporting applications tied to physical processes such as conveyance, labeling, imaging, or scanning
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement reliable solutions in a production environment
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving operations, IT, and external vendors
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating documentation and user training materials
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay focused, manage priorities, and keep projects moving forward.
  • Clear empathy and respect for frontline staff, with a commitment to delivering and designing practical, user-centered solutions.
  • Comfortable analyzing problems, thinking critically, and offering practical solutions that help teams work smarter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, particularly in Commerce or Supply Chain modules
  • Familiarity with production or warehouse automation systems and IoT or edge devices
  • Exposure to low-code/no-code platforms like Power Platform or LogicApps for building custom workflows
  • Understanding of inventory management, supply chain operations, or logistics platforms
  • Prior experience working with computer vision, machine learning, or automated classification tools in a production setting
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating technology service contracts
  • Background in nonprofits or mission-driven organizations with physical operational infrastructure
  • Basic understanding of API integrations and data flow between systems (e.g., POS, ERP, reporting tools)

Physical Abilities: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit for periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, and operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.

Work Environment:
  • Exposure to computer screens.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Required in-office work schedule, at least 5 days/week in office.
  • Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, or remotely from home.
