Overview

The Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Analyst is responsible for supporting the iteration, implementation, and maintenance of the credit union's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) program. This role helps ensure that the organization is prepared for potential disruptions by conducting risk assessments, facilitating business impact analyses (BIAs), and coordinating response and recovery plans. The BCP Analyst collaborates with business units to enhance resilience and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maturation, maintenance, and testing of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
  • Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to identify critical business functions, recovery priorities, and dependencies.
  • Support the iteration and maintenance of contingency plans, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation related to business continuity planning, including risk assessments, recovery strategies, and incident response procedures.
  • Identify and assess risks related to business operations, technology disruptions, cybersecurity threats, and external events.
  • Assist in developing response and recovery strategies to minimize downtime and operational impact.
  • Support incident response efforts during business disruptions, ensuring proper execution of recovery plans.
  • Coordinate and conduct business continuity exercises, including tabletop scenarios, recovery drills, and system failover tests.
  • Analyze test results and recommend improvements to enhance recovery capabilities.
  • Help develop and deliver BCP training to employees, ensuring awareness of their roles and responsibilities during a disruption.
  • Help ensure compliance with NCUA, FFIEC, and other regulatory requirements related to business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory updates to enhance the credit union's resilience strategies.
  • Prepare reports for executive leadership, risk committees, and regulators on business continuity planning and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or operational risk management, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Familiarity with business continuity frameworks, including ISO 22301, FFIEC BCP Handbook, and NIST standards.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, BIAs, and business continuity testing.
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
    • Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP)

Target Base Pay

$81,391 - $95,745 / year
