Department Overview

The Technology Solutions Department is responsible for designing and delivering state of the art technology solutions that are designed to create efficiency, mitigate risk and grow revenue for the Firm. Technology Solutions is also responsible for defining, managing and executing a robust Cyber Security program following the NIST Cyber Security Framework. Technology Solutions focuses on technical excellence through innovative application designs, robust data integration and analytics, high availability infrastructure and gold level service for our key stakeholders with information security embedded throughout. Critical functions within Technology Solutions include Project Management, Vendor Management, Business Analysis, Enterprise Data Governance and Stewardship, Application Development and 3rd Party Integration, Strategic and Secure Infrastructure and Operations. The Technology Solutions Department collaborates closely with Firm leadership and business unit heads to develop plans in line with business objectives.

Position Responsibilities

The Technology Solutions Department is seeking an experienced individual with Data Analyst and Business Analyst skills to join the Client Data Management Team. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of relevant business data and processes and enterprise data models to design and deliver strategic process automation and reporting solutions. This individual will collaborate with multiple business teams to collectively address complex multi-functional challenges with automated solutions where possible for scale.

This is a hands-on role that requires robust critical thinking skills, diligent and inquisitive nature, passion for excellent service and relationships, the ability to self-start and be resourceful, a strong understanding of technology and an abiding interest in developing direct expertise in relevant technology solutions. This is a client-facing role requiring excellent communication skills to build strong relationships at all levels within the organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing expertise in Golub Capital's core business processes and data models related to Investment, Portfolio, Investor Management and Client Reporting
  • Becoming proficient in the report production cycle end-to-end across data sourcing / approvals, calculations / aggregations and report and / or file generation. Identifying technology gaps and recommending solutions to ensure we have a robust, reliable and scalable system to automate the generation and delivery of Investor Client Reporting with appropriate reviews, approvals and monitoring
  • Developing a deep understanding of data classification, protection and privacy requirements to ensure report generation and delivery has the required protections in place
  • Analyzing and understanding complex business processes and presenting them in an understandable and logical format
  • Soliciting and developing detailed requirements documentation including user stories, use cases, design specifications, business process and data flows and success criteria
  • Creating visual business process flow diagrams and / or technical architecture diagrams
  • Independently completing complex data analysis across multiple platforms
  • Governing the Investor Client Reporting Data Dictionary to provide definition and lineage of all external client facing data artifacts back to the Firm's Glossary
  • Handling support issues raised by the business through to resolution and within defined support SLAs
  • Leading projects with cross-functional teams to deliver Gold Standard reporting with quality governed data, including data owners and stewards as well as Technology Solutions Business Analysts and application development teams
  • Building strong and productive relationships with key business stakeholders, sponsors, technology colleagues and technology vendors
  • Confidently facilitating meetings with all levels of the organization including senior business stakeholders and senior management
  • Using reporting tools to build and provide ad hoc queries and reports to stakeholders


Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in Financial Services
  • Experience managing enterprise data assets in complex organizations
  • Experience with enterprise reporting platforms, ideally with external investor / client impact
  • Meticulous with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with complex situations to derive workable actions
  • Prior use or knowledge of Data Warehouse, Analysis Services, Power BI and SSRS
  • Proficient with SQL
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience managing and implementing small to large sized projects and general understanding of Project Management principles
  • Self-motivated, team oriented, flexible and able to multi-task

Compensation and Benefits
For Illinois Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $120,000 to $185,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
