About the Role
Are you ready to unlock your potential by overseeing all aspects of the Business Development lifecycle and the Go-to-Market execution to the Department of Defense (DoD) space? We're hiring a Business Development Leader who knows DoD. In this BD Leader role you will have tremendous upside with some pre-built partnerships. You will report directly to the Chief Growth Officer located in our Herndon, VA headquarters office.
In this role, you will:
- Work with our senior leaders to execute on a strategy that captures new business opportunities
- Find the right challenges for our team of software developers to take on
- Engage with customers and industry partners, understand their challenges and identify how we might best serve them
- Foster and cultivate strong relationships with customers and partners to understand their challenges, identify opportunities on how we might best serve them and to drive new opportunities across our government services and products businesses.
- Develop and execute a business development strategy and plan that aligns to our brand and leverages our core competencies
- Lead and execute business development, capture, and proposal activities
- Work with our marketing and branding team to create effective brand messaging and powerfully communicate our brand's unique value proposition
- Continuously monitor and analyze brand performance metrics, leveraging these insights to identify how we may serve our customers better, optimize our performance, and find new opportunities
You might thrive in this role if you:
- Possess an active TS/SCI clearance
- Have a strong understanding and experience in the DoD industry with strong relationships with customers.
- Are self sufficient to be handed a clear target for DoD market and convert that target into a reality in 12 months+
- Are an experienced professional building relationships and capturing new business
- Have the ability to lead teams of people and work effectively with senior leaders
- Have exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, allowing you to effortlessly build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Are a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and test new strategies
You will excel in this role if you have also these skills:
- Have 10+ years of software development experience
- Currently based in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area
