The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the achievement of global sales targets, design win capture, and continued revenue growth within the Global Semiconductor Market. The position is focused on developing and growing business with strategic semiconductor equipment manufacturers. This individual must be able to sell strategically and thrive in a cross-functional team environment. The successful candidate will identify, develop, win and maintain business with strategic customers to drive growth for Excelitas.
Our products are at the forefront of technology in the photonics industry and will support our Semiconductor Equipment business segment. The successful applicant will gain a thorough understanding of our products, business and the semiconductor manufacturing market.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Own direct account management, drive attainment of sales, profit and market share objectives.
- Develop and deliver Strategic Account Review presentations, build solid customer relationships, and negotiate and close deals within Company guidelines;
- Identify and secure design-wins with existing customers and new prospects;
- Maintain knowledge and expertise in relevant products and markets; monitor competitive activity and market trends; partner with Product Management & Applications Engineering to develop strategic and tactical response
- Serve as initial point of contact on issues within the region; coordinate evaluation and input by appropriate functional resources
- Lead or assist with the preparation and submission of bids, quotes or proposals by defining the "winning" approach (price, commercial, technical etc) through coordinating the resources (technical, manufacturing, commercial)
- Support core business processes including monthly & quarterly operating reviews, and annual operating planning through forecasting effectiveness, sales reporting, and expense management;
- Represent the Excelitas at all levels within the customer community, ensuring the interests of Excelitas are both promoted and protected.
- Be an expert on key accounts.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge in photonics, optics, optical components and light sources, or engineering desirable. Experience with semiconductor manufacturing, instrument OEMs, applications, or marketplace helpful.
- Sales Skills: Strong customer orientation. Must be able to manage strategic sales process in complex customer organizations
- Communication Skills: Strong leadership presence with an ability to develop and deliver targeted presentations at all levels within an organization. Demonstrated interpersonal savvy with proven ability to build effective relationships throughout all levels internally and externally.
- Leadership and Management of Resources: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a cross-functional environment. Expertise motivating others toward the achievement of objectives.
- Business & Organization Knowledge: Understands Excelitas business and core processes.
- Performance: Exhibits a strong bias for action with a results-orientation. Drives self and others to deliver on commitments. Anticipates and adjusts, demonstrating positive change management.
Qualifications
- Relevant bachelor's degree required
- Familiarity with technical, engineering or scientific terms providing the ability to have a credible dialog with the engineering and production teams
- Experience with optics, photonic systems or lasers is advantageous, but not required
- Demonstrated strong & effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Ability to work with and organize cross functional teams
- 5+ years relevant working experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Ability to travel 30% - 50% domestically and internationally
