Business Development Manager

We have an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager in our Corporate Facility.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships, maximizing sales with existing customers and actively prospecting for new accounts. The customer base is primarily distributors who serve the after-market maintenance and repair of pre-fabricated cooling towers (package towers). Package towers are used as a component in cooling systems for commercial buildings such as data centers, offices, schools, hospitals, hospitality buildings, as well as light industrial uses, among many others.

The Business Development Manager is the primary external representative of the organization in the package tower market; you must possess knowledge of the market players, product offerings, and competitive environment. In addition, you will develop and convey a sense of expertise in our products, services, and capabilities, as the key educator to customers. The Business Development Manager may grow into related capabilities as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. The Business Development Manager will be expected to forecast sales within the given market and meet performance targets on a quarterly/annual basis. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop and manage relationships across the customer's functions/departments

  • Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Executive


Develop knowledge of the customer's future strategies and plans
  • Strategic focus, growth plans, new segments/geographies
  • Identify and target projects 6 months and further away
  • Identify the end user targets and educate the customers with product options and the value proposition
  • Ensure broad knowledge of Brentwood products & services across customer functions
  • Gain marketplace knowledge from customers on projects and competitors
  • Target new distributor accounts for share and application growth
  • Develop and manage the opportunity pipeline across time horizons
  • Keep current knowledge of exciting industry developments, new technologies, mega projects, economic conditions

Focus on sales execution in real-time
  • Close purchase orders
  • Understand competitive situation. Obtain and report market data.
  • Own the communication flow between the account and the company
  • Monitor quotation activity, tracking progress, following up quotations, and resolving issues
  • Own the won/lost data gathering, accountable for the CRM opportunity output

Essential Skills:
  • Existing knowledge of the package cooling tower market players, products and environment in North America
  • Thoroughly enjoys meeting people and developing business relationships. Outgoing by nature and projects a positive outlook and image
  • Comfortable developing and executing meetings, presenting to groups of 3-20 people
  • Skilled proactive communicator, oral and written
  • Ability to think and react in real time
  • Analytical capability, able to assemble qualitative information and quantitative data into a comprehensive point of view
  • Advanced MS Office skills and experience. Outlook, Powerpoint, and advanced Excel skills (Functions and Pivot Tables)
  • 2+ years' experience in sales or business development in the package cooling tower or HVAC industry
  • Bachelor's Degree from recognized university or college
  • Located near a major airport

Other:
  • This is a fully remote, home office based position
  • Ability to travel 50% or greater is required
  • Overnight travel, including out of state, 2-3 times per month as needed
  • Compensation includes a base salary plus an uncapped sales incentive plan paid quarterly
