The ideal candidate will be adept at managing the entire business development lifecycle, including opportunity identification, pipeline management, relationship building, capture management, teaming agreements, proposal writing, and working with government contract vehicles such as Multiple Award Schedules (MAS).

Responsibilities
- Identify Business Opportunities:
- Conduct market research to identify and evaluate new business opportunities within the federal and commercial sectors.
- Monitor procurement portals, such as SAM.gov, FedBizOpps, and industry newsletters, to identify relevant Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other opportunities.
- Respond to RFIs and Sources Sought Notices
- Assess potential customers' needs and pain points to align solutions with their requirements
- Manage Opportunity Pipeline:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities, ensuring continuous pursuit of new business.
- Prioritize opportunities and track progress through all stages of the business development lifecycle
- Develop Relationships and Teaming Agreements:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in target markets.
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships and teaming arrangements to enhance Nextonic's competitive position.
- Negotiate and execute teaming agreements, subcontractor agreements, and other business development-related contracts.
- Capture Management:
- Lead capture efforts for targeted opportunities, including developing capture strategies and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
- Conduct competitive analysis and gather intelligence on competitors and market trends.
- Develop win strategies and solutions that align with customer requirements.
- Proposal Development:
- Lead the proposal development process, including writing, reviewing, and editing technical and management content.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts, engineers, and proposal teams to ensure the timely and high-quality submission of proposals.
- Manage compliance with RFP requirements and customer guidelines throughout the proposal development process.
- Contract Vehicles Management:
- Leverage government contract vehicles, such as Multiple Award Schedules (MAS), Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs), and other acquisition programs to secure new contracts.
- Maintain knowledge of contract vehicle usage and requirements to effectively utilize them in business development activities.
- Strategy Development:
- Work with senior leadership to establish business development goals, strategic plans, and metrics for growth.
- Regularly review and update strategies based on market conditions, customer feedback, and internal capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of business development experience, preferably in the IT, life sciences, or government contracting industry
- Industry knowledge: Familiarity with the government contracting process and regulations, as well as experience working with federal, state, or local government agencies.
- Technical acumen: Understanding of technical concepts and solutions relevant to Nextonic's offerings.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, pursuing, and winning new business opportunities
- Experience with the full business development lifecycle, including capture management, proposal writing, developing teaming agreements, and working with government contract vehicles such as MAS.
- Track record: Proven success in leading and winning large-scale business opportunities, with a strong understanding of the capture management lifecycle.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop innovative capture strategies that align with business goals.
- Research and analysis: Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and analyze data to inform strategic decisions.
- Relationship building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Project management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple capture efforts simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Analytical skills: Ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and client requirements to develop winning strategies.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
