Job Summary

The Fireplace Business Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of business objectives among their company's sales, marketing and operational employees.

Essential Functions
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Rio Grande Co.'s market presence and drive revenue growth.
  • Maintain current client relationship and identify areas for potential clients.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Represent Rio Grande Co. at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our brand and build networks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to clients.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
  • Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
  • Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales and operations.
  • Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods.
  • Research the latest in the business industry and creating new opportunities to expand business.
  • Collaborate with sales and design team to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profit goals
  • Train junior salespeople to improve sales goals and meet expectations.
  • Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Knowledge of fireplace, construction, and/or building industry
  • Ability to drive a standard vehicle


Working Conditions

Constant = 75 - 100% of the time; Frequent = 50 - 75% of the time; Occasional = 25 - 50% of the time; Rare = less than 25% of the time

Work Environment:

  • Constant work performed in a climate controlled environment


Physical Demands:
  • Frequent work performed in a sedentary position
  • Occasional work performed while standing
  • Occasional ability to lift, bend, stop, and kneel
  • Constant ability for non-CDL driving
