Summary:

As we position for continued growth, HME Ahrens-Fox is looking for someone to focus on strategic business development across North America to expand our Core pumper sales. We have a broad product offering and a really strong value proposition for municipal fire departments. We understand large and small departments both have special requirements and are looking for an OEM that is flexible and willing to work directly with them to provide long-term, fiscally responsible and sustainable apparatus solutions.

We are seeking someone who has experience working directly with fire departments and understands what is important to them throughout the total lifecycle of their apparatus ownership. This person will work with the rest of the sales team, dealer network and directly with fire departments and service centers to build new and innovative programs designed to grow our core apparatus business. They will be the point person at HME for new programs directed at selling our core pumpers and ultimately be responsible for sales growth and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build relationships with municipal fire departments to develop new HME accounts. Accountable for hitting annual core pumper sales targets.
  • Develop 5 year municipal sales strategy and act as point person for developing incentives and programs that differentiate HME from our competitors and allow us to win new accounts
  • Be the voice of the customer for HME. Actively collect and communicate customer needs back to the organization so that HME understands our customers priorities and needs.
  • Advise product management on product configurations and trends in the market
  • Provide service department with direction and structure for new service programs and offerings that exceed customer expectations for overall service experience with HME.


Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of sales or business development experience. 10+ years in a role working directly with municipal fire departments and involved with the purchase and servicing of their fire apparatus.
  • Proven experience working with executive leadership teams in small-to-mid sized organizations with the ability to develop a vision and sell that vision to internal constituents to implement positive change in an organization.


General Physical Requirements:

Combination of office and production floor environment (no specific ratio) with light to moderate physical work - required to exert up to 30 lbs. of force periodically, up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally.
Working Conditions: this position is a combination of office and factory work environments and will

occasionally be exposed to:

noise - loud, sharp, extended, impulse; up to, and occasionally in excess of, 85dBA (which may

require the use of hearing protection),

vibration - directed to hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders from the use of electric and pneumatic

(impact) hand tools of varying sizes,

hazards - electric current; oils and lubricants; moving mechanical parts; chemical cleaners and

solvents; sharp edges on stainless steel and other components and metal shavings;

airborne dust, occasional intense light from welding in work area or adjacent work

areas; working on ladders, and scaffolds.
Plant Floor Physical Activities, Ergonomic Considerations: this position may be exposed to:

standing, walking for periods of time,

reaching in any direction, above and below shoulder level,

sometimes lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing objects weighing up to 40 lbs.,

occasionally performing work in a crouched, squatting, kneeling, or stooped position (body bent forward and down (from waist) for extended periods of time.
Office work is generally sedentary in nature. Office environment physical demands include: being seated at

desk for extended periods while talking on the telephone or working on a computer; walking, standing,

occasional lifting and carrying (up to 15 lbs.); frequent near vision for reading and computer work; repetitive

use of hands, fingers, wrists for keyboard and other business machine usage; occasional stressful

conditions.
